The analytical technique that measures the mass-to-charge ratio of ions is Mass Spectroscopy. Mass spectrometry used in the clinical laboratory focused on drugs of abuse confirmations, newborn screening, and steroid analysis. Almost all areas of laboratory medicine, is depended on mass spectrometry. Another laboratory technique used for separation if a mixture is Chromatography. Large amount of pure chemicals used to make medicines are prepared using chromatography.
